Cut The ‘P’ and ‘Lem’ Out of Problem and You Get ROB is the fifth episode in the first season and the fifth episode ever produced of The Real Housewives of Orange County. It premiered on April 18, 2006 , to an audience of N/A million live viewers.
Synopsis[]
On Bravotv.com: "Jeana's son Colton breaks his hand in a fight about drugs. Kimberly and her family hire a "dog guru" to deal with their out-of-control dog. Later, a routine trip to the doctor leaves Kimberly quite concerned. Now in the workforce, Jo is struggling to keep up with her responsibilities around the house. Slade bonds with his sons over his exotic - and pricey - costume collection. A lost bet to Slade forces Jo to do housework - in a very sexy outfit. Vicki interrupts Briana's date, fearing her daughter is too serious with her boyfriend, Colby. Unemployed Donn begins a renovation of a home nearby, and Michael finally gets a job. Vicki and Lauri's attempt at after-work cocktails in the Jacuzzi is crashed by Michael and his friends, who are all smitten with Lauri. Lauri is thrilled when her son Josh is finally released from juvenile hall, but is upset when Ashley refuses to attend the celebration."[1]

Dr. Gideon Ariel, biomechanics expert helps Shane with his athletic endeavors at Jeana's request. Shane doesn't understand the point of biomechanics. Kara discusses sex with Jeana, and thinks even though Jeana was a Playboy Playmate, she can't be further from that in real life. Jeana hopes Colton follows the major league steps of his father and grandfather along with Shane. Colton broke his wrist from punching someone who was smoking weed and called him an Orange County baby who doesn't know how to fight. Colton needs surgery for the fracture, Jeana is worried as Colton's major league future can be in jeopardy.
Vicki, Lauri, and Lauri's friend Lorelei have dinner. Vicki talks about the adjustment they went through when Donn lost his job, and the position of the bread winner transferred to Vicki. Lauri mentions Josh's hearing is on Monday, Lauri struggles on whether to hire an attorney, and decides that Josh should face consequence for his actions. Therefore letting a public defender represent him. However, Lauri is relieved for the first time in years as she knows Josh is somewhere safe. The ladies console Lauri.
Briana's reaction of Vicki's interrupting
Vicki states she worries about Michael but never for Briana. Vicki loves Briana's boyfriend, Colby. However, Vicki doesn't want Briana to marry her high school sweetheart. Colby gave Briana a chastity promise ring, they both believe in sex after marriage. Vicki calls Briana on her date with Colby and wants her home after dinner, Briana objects. Briana thinks Vicki still babies her despite her being 18. Vicki interrupts the date in person, to the couple's surprise, and reiterates Briana has to come home after dinner. To much of Briana's frustration.
Lauri attends Josh's continuation hearing. Unfortunately, Josh is 2 days short of the 60 day sentence. Lauri is frustrated and exhausted, but insists on not hiring a lawyer is a good lesson for Josh. Sophie, Steve, and Lauri go pick Josh up for the third time. Ashley doesn't want to go. Josh was finally able to go home after 2 months, everyone is overjoyed, they go to dinner. Josh states there was never any drugs, he had to take the plea deal to get out. Though he understands Lauri's decision in not hiring a lawyer. Josh recalls an incident of the boys jumping each other. They took Josh for an haircut. Josh had a lot of time to think in juvie and decides to learn from the experience and hope not to worry Lauri anymore.
Slade has a costume collection hobby, which both his sons also enjoy. Slade has so much a storage unit is required to store the collection. Gavin enjoys Slade's company, and thinks he's like a big kid. It's father's day, Jo and the boys plan for a surprise massage for Slade. Jo gets a taste of motherhood grocery shopping with the boys in getting ready for a surprise beach picnic while Slade is getting the massage. Grayson is a handful. Slade appreciates Jo's planning.
Donn is flipping a house Vicki and him bought in Mission Viejo. Vicki is glad Donn is doing something in his unemployment. Donn thinks Vicki's "controlling personality" will get involved somehow. Michael visits Donn at the house. Michael knows Vicki and Donn think he's lazy. Donn thinks he can flip the house for 150k, Donn complains about Michael with his friend. Michael lounges at the pool with his friend.
Kim plans for a beach picnic for Scott and her dad for father's day. Kim, Bianca, and Travis take a hula dance class, she wants to set a good example of a healthy lifestyle after he melanoma scare. Kim sees her dermatologist, who she sees every 8 weeks. The doctor decides to biopsy a mole Kim noticed. The biopsy came back malignant, Kim's fifth one. Kim states she's not afraid of dying, but leaving her family.
Vicki and Briana talk about Briana and Michael's biological dad over lunch. Briana is not close to him, and states her relationship with Donn is confusing at times on whether Donn is her dad or Vicki's husband. Vicki feels bad about Briana and Michael's estranged relationship with their biological dad. Briana doesn't have strong feelings regarding Vicki's worries. Briana mentioned she used to hang out with Shane when they were freshmen. Vicki thinks Briana should date other people, as Vicki married her high school sweetheart and it didn't turn out well. Briana shuts down the discussion and thinks Vicki is being controlling.

Matt thinks Colton is the best basketball player in the family. Jeana thinks she overparented with Shane, and she did a better job with Colton. Colton has a cast on post surgery, Jeana talks to Colton about fighting. Jeana wants to call the parents of the boy who was smoking weed and Colton refuses. Colton feels comfortable talking with Jeana and going to her to talk about problems.

Michael gets a job delivering pizza one day a week. Vicki and Lauri have a drink and enjoy Vicki's jacuzzi after a hard work day. Both ladies have gotten close and consider each other very good friends. Michael and his friends joins the ladies, they think Lauri is hot and a MILF. Lauri is flattered.
Slade and Jo go go karting, They make a bet, if Slade wins Jo has to clean the house dressed up as a French maid, and if Jo wins she gets a Louis Vuitton bag. Slade wins. Jo thinks Slade is being too seriously lately and this lightens him up.
