Dorinda Medley is a former main cast member on The Real Housewives of New York City.
She has also starred in both the second and fourth seasons of The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip.
Casting[]
After being briefly seen in the third season during the Secrets Revealed episode (during future co-star, Ramona Singer’s, birthday lunch), Medley joined The Real Housewives of New York City during its seventh season and remained as a 'Housewife' until the conclusion of the twelfth season. Ahead of the thirteenth season, it was announced that Medley would not be returning to the show; which she later revealed was due to the network, Bravo, firing her for what they felt was a lack of accountability for the mean-spirited and drunken behaviour that she had displayed on her final season as a 'Housewife'. For elaboration, while producers felt this made her a liability and made her tough to work with, they felt her outbursts and the aftermath of her behaviour at the 'Reunion', plus her insistence on being independent and not seeking help for her volatility, were major reasons behind the decision not to renew Medley’s contract.
Medley has since, however, starred on the second and fourth seasons of The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip. The former season was based in Medley’s The Berkshires residence, titled: Blue Stone Manor, which saw her invite six other 'Housewives' to spend a week with her from three other American instalments of The Real Housewives franchise. Jill Zarin, who Medley knew somewhat and starred on the New York City instalment of the franchise before Medley’s time on the show, joined the other 'Housewives' halfway through the trip. The season was dubbed: The Ex-Wives Club, as the cast was comprised of all then-former stars of the franchise.
The fourth season was based in St. Barts, where six former 'Housewives' from the initial thirteen seasons of the New York City installment of The Real Housewives franchise; before its reboot, holidayed together. The season was dubbed: RHONY Legacy.
Since filming both these spin-off seasons, Medley also made a 'Cameo' during the fourteenth season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey; since she appeared in support (as an audience member) of original main cast member, Teresa Giudice’s, first live podcast.
