Synopsis[]
Season 13[]
Emily introduces viewers to her life as a mother-of-three, to Annabelle, Luke and Keller, as a Wife to Husband, Shane and as a practicing lawyer plus party planner. She showcases her disagreements with Shane as he attempts to take the bar exam which he has been putting off for a while now but also the ups as they celebrate their ninth wedding anniversary.
Season 14[]
Shane is finally taking the bar exam which has, in turn, made Emily become a single mother as Shane is occupied with work and studying practically every waking moment. This presents marital struggles as Emily doesn’t feel appreciated by Shane. In addition to this, Emily decides that it is time to become fitter as she tips the scales and is shocked by how heavy she has become.
Season 15[]
While Emily and Shane’s marriage is looking better, there are still bouts of tension over “small but big stuff”. The pair manage to show their undying love for each other after they both test positive for COVID-19 but Shane takes a turn for the worse and is sent to hospital. As Emily becomes increasingly worried, she documents the anguish that is felt as Shane is in hospital while COVID-19 strict lockdown rules operate.

Emily’s daughter, Anabelle, is baptized which causes her to rekindle her faith and put things into perspective. In doing this, she realizes that her uneasy childhood growing up and strained relationship with her Father has shaped how she copes with confrontations today (usually impulsive and extremely angry) but also how it has shaped her as a parent. In addition to this, Emily begins her journey as an ambassador for The Innocence Project to help innocent but convicted criminals in life are prison.

Annabelle’s modeling career is just beginning which Emily is thrilled about since she can consider herself a “stage mom”. As well as this, she begins to reach out to her mother who she has had an on-off relationship with in the past but feels like her kids are missing out on relationships with their Grandmother so attempts to build brushes there.

Emily Simpson has gone through an incredible transformation after losing forty pounds and finds herself trying to adjust to her new healthy lifestyle. Her obsession with the gym has affected her relationship with food, family and friends. When she’s not helping the wrongly convicted as a part of the California Innocence Project, she’s questioning the ladies on everything from integrity to intentions. Her closeness with Tamra causes those around her to wonder if Emily is taking her opinions too far.

Later on, Emily discusses health with Shane, the juxtaposition of Emily's avid gym commitment and Shane not exercising. Emily wishes they can both work out after a heart attack scare. Shane brings up Emily might be working out too much and self deprecates when her goals are not met, and that he handles the kids while she is at the gym. Emily feels insecure about her body at Heather's fashion show in Catwalks and Catfights, due to the other ladies have pants custom made while Heather asked her to bring her own jeans, Gina consoles her. Heather checks on Emily during the show, Emily states she "doesn't feel hot" but is trying to have fun in her confessional.

Heather feels betrayed by Gina and is angry at her from the Katie situation in All Up In Gina’s Grill. Gina feels Heather has been distant from her and is holding onto the Katie situation. At dinner, Heather and Gina argue. Heather proceeds to compares her paparazzi rumor to Shannon's comment about CPS and Gina's children last year. Specifically regarding how it affects her kids. Argument goes back to Katie, where the timeline of when Gina calls Katie after the Golf Event is disputed. Heather and Gina get emotional and agree to move on.
Gina confronts Emily in The Gloves Are Off. Emily thinks Gina puts Heather on a pedestal and Heather manipulates Gina. Gina thinks Emily is being aggressive toward Jenn. Argument ensued and Gina storms off. Gina was unable to get in the house thus needing to go back to the court. Emily intercepts Gina, they both break down. Gina is scared of potentially losing Travis and Emily. They apologize and makeup as Shannon and Heather arrive.
Emily feels insecure about her body at Heather's fashion show in Catwalks and Catfights, due to the other ladies have pants custom made while Heather asked her to bring her own jeans, Gina consoles her. The next day, Gina is cracking under the pressure of the impending talk with Heather, along with the Travis situation, Emily consoles her.

Jenn questions Emily's motive and Emily opens up regarding her childhood, Jenn accepts Emily's apology and states she admires Emily.

Emily brings up that she has the same dress as Alexis at Heather's fashion show, but hers is a size 12 and Alexis as has size 2. Emily tells the ladies her conversation with Alexis did not go well at dinner. The next day, Alexis, Tamra, Gina, and Emily attend biscuit making class. Alexis tells the ladies that she's willing to move on. Emily thinks it's a bit awkward between herself and Alexis since their talk last night. Gina and Emily want Alexis to understand their support for Shannon does not translate to an attack on her. After Heather's fashion show, Emily pulls Alexis aside and asks Alexis to reach a resolution with Shannon. Gina and Emily ask Shannon if she'd be comfortable having a conversation with Alexis, Shannon does not think it's healthy for her. Emily gives Alexis the no-go signal across the room.

Emily and Gina rejoin and announce they are leaving, Heather and Emily immediately start arguing again, Alexis interrupts leading to another screaming match. Emily and Gina leave.
