Premise[]
The show filmed Erika Jayne, a month ahead of her “comeback tour”, that was set in Las Vegas from August 16 until December 12, 2023. Jayne had finally signed to do one of her biggest dreams, fronting a Las Vegas Residency tour, however, was still struggling with all the legal woes that Ex-Husband, Tom Girardi, had landed her in. Jayne documents the struggles of having to find the passion that she once had, had, at a time before all the legal problems and she was at her highest point financially and in her career.
The cameras pick up thirty days before Jayne is set to do her first show. Filmed across two forty-five minute episodes, Erika sits down; almost like she would in a Housewives-style confessional, and discusses as openly as she can, her childhood, the relationship that she had with her mother, the relationship that she had with Tom up until she effectively didn’t, and then the latest chapter which has only been dark.
Meshed with Jayne’s open dialogue about her past, the cameras follow Erika and her musical director, Mikey Minden, discuss how production of the performances should work and then actually turn this practice into reality as Erika rehearses intensely for the show. As Erika’s lost mojo is affecting her love, desire and passion within her performances, routines are cut and tough conversations are had as Erika searches for that almost hidden intent desire to perform.
Finally, at the end of the two-parter, we are treated to a couple of the performances and we see the aftermath of Erika’s first performance as she opens up about the happiness that she now feels, which she hasn’t for a long time.
