Trivia[]

Franchise Facts[]

  • She was one of the first five original 'Housewives' that starred on the inaugural season of the entire The Real Housewives franchise.
    • She was the fourth 'Housewife' ever to have a tagline as she was penultimate on the inaugural season’s intro.
    • She was also one of the first four 'Housewives' to appear in a Reunion Special as she, alongside Jo De La Rosa, Vicki Gunvalson and Lauri Peterson, sat in Keough’s back garden to discuss the inaugural season’s events.
  • There has been different stories put forward publicly as to who or what inspired the beginning of the entire franchise but one theory, which has been suggested by Keough, is that she is the reason that the franchise originated.
    • Jeana claims that she became friendly with her then-neighbor and producer, Scott Dunlop, who decided to base and write a show on Keough and her family. When he pitched the idea, he started filming the Keough family and sent it to Bravo who then said they liked it but they needed more families.
      • She said that none of the other neighbors were interested in Dunlop’s idea. This led to other women in Coto De Caza being scoured outside the immediate street of Keough and the likes of Kimberly Bryant, De La Rosa, Gunvalson and Peterson were found.
        • This was revealed by Keough in 2016 on Oprah: Where Are They Now?. Whether this is the true origination of the franchise, is still not fully confirmed.
  • Keough was the first 'Housewife' to star in five seasons on an installment, alongside Gunvalson, when they begun filming the fifth season. However, thirty-five 'Housewives' have now gone on to surpass five seasons across the entire American installment franchise. She is now joined by fifteen other 'Housewives' who have completed, filmed for or are filming their fifth seasons of any given American installment.
  • She is the oldest 'Housewife' that has starred on the American version of the franchise.
    • She also was one of the oldest 'Housewives' to star on her installment when she did, as she filmed from the ages of fifty to fifty-five.
  • Keough is the 'Housewife' who has appeared in the most seasons as 'Guest' subsequent to her time as a 'Housewife' since she is set to appear in the eighteenth season of the Orange County installment; making it the sixth season for her to be credited as a 'Guest'.

Installment Facts[]

  • Keough is the joint seventh longest-running 'Housewife' on The Real Housewives of Orange County; having starred in five seasons, alongside Gretchen Rossi and Kelly Dodd.
  • Jeana is one of five 'Housewives' on the Orange County installment to have left the show and returned as a 'Friend of the Housewives' (in a recurring role).
  • Keough was considered one the most central pieces to the Orange County installment at her time of starring.
    • While theme songs and Reunion Specials were very different in the initial era of the franchise, Keough did open the fourth season’s intro and sit next to Andy Cohen (at the helm of a Reunion Special Sofa), during the same season.

Personal Facts[]

  • Jeana was a Playboy Playmate in 1980.
