Burruss joined The Real Housewives of Atlanta in its second season as the first new ‘Housewife’ to the installment. She completed fourteen seasons as a ‘Housewife’ before choosing to exit the show after the conclusion of the fifteenth season. Production for the following season was hugely delayed which left Burruss feeling “the network left us sitting for too long” and during the break from filming, she enjoying spending more time with her family and allowed her to work on some new “nice and big projects”.

Coinciding with the airing of its fifth season, the second spin-off series to the Atlanta installment of The Real Housewives franchise, The Kandi Factory, begun airing. Originally being pitched as a one-off special, the show was picked up for an additional eight episodes after high ratings during its pilot. The show chronicled Burruss and her team at “The Factory” helping six aspiring artists try to jumpstart their dreams of success in the music industry. Despite Burruss announcing that the show would be back for a second edition, the network later told her that they had no plans to renew the show.

As a sequel to Burruss’ storyline on the sixth season of the main show, a second spin-off series was commissioned and aired just a couple of weeks after the season concluded, that followed Burruss and Todd Tucker plan their wedding, without a wedding planner, and then get wed despite the family opposition and drama that the couple continuously received. The show was named, Kandi’s Wedding, which was a five-parter season.

The following year, for a third consecutive year, Burruss received another spin-off series, titled: Kandi’s Ski Trip. The show followed Burruss and Tucker’s blended family going on holiday; a year after the opposition that the couple received ahead of their wedding. The series aired directly after the finale of the seventh season of the main show.

Alongside the first four episode of the main show’s tenth season, Burruss’ fourth spin-off series, Xscape: Still Kickin’ It, aired; a series which followed four out of five of the original Xscape members (including Burruss) plunging back into rehearsals now in their 40s but confronting issues which they thought that they had left in the past but resurface.

Shortly after the conclusion of the same season, Burruss’ fifth spin-off series, Kandi Koated Nights, premiered. This three-part season was a chat show that Burruss hosted and saw her interviewing candid celebrities and guest stars, such as: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Erika Jayne, and former The Real Housewives of Potomac star, Monique Samuels.

Ahead of the premiere for the main show’s fourteenth season, Burruss’ sixth and final spin-off series, Kandi & The Gang, aired. This spin-off series followed Burruss, Tucker and their staff at "Old Lady Gang" as they revitalize the restaurant while balancing their existing careers and personal lives. Despite Burruss announcing that the show has been cancelled after one edition, it has since been picked up by network, Bravo, for a second season.
