Lisa Vanderpump is a former main cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She has also received two spin-off series, titled: Vanderpump Rules and Vanderpump Dogs.
Casting[]
Vanderpump made up one of the original main cast members in the first season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She starred as a 'Housewife' until the conclusion of the ninth season. She decided to step away from the show after not getting along with any of her co-stars after they all believed that she leaked a story to the press; which led her to film less and less for the show and not at all with her co-stars. After a tough year personally and professionally, she more-or-less left the programme mid-production and while providing a "wrapping up storyline" type scene in the series finale, she did not attend the season’s Reunion Special; announcing this just the day before and that she had officially quit the show altogether.
During the third season of the main show, the first spin-off premiered, titled: Vanderpump Rules; which followed Vanderpump and some of her staff and some of her bars and restaurants as they navigate their futures in show business and their interpersonal dramas with each other. The series would go on for eleven seasons before being placed under "indefinite hiatus" ahead of the conclusion of its eleventh season.
Vanderpump, post her entire time on the main show, received a second spin-off series, titled: Vanderpump Dogs; which followed Vanderpump (running her dog foundation/rescue center), her staff and those who come to the adopting centre. This was only a one-time series.

Introducing Herself As A Restauranteur[]
Lisa and her Husband, Ken, own twenty-six restaurants/bars/lounges/clubs and their success speaks for itself when the audience is shown their fabulous abode. A very keen animal-lover, Lisa is never bored as she is nurturing the two restaurants that are close to her home - SUR (in West Hollywood) and Villa Blanca (in Beverly Hills).
Role As A Mother (Helping Son With What Next)[]
Despite owning so many restaurants, Lisa’s favourite place to cook and favourite place to serve food is in her home kitchen and to her family in her dining room. Lisa’s Daughter, Pandora, is coming home less and less now (she is a valedictorian who is spending a lot of time with her Boyfriend, Jason). However, Lisa is always happy when her Daughter is home so that she can hear the latest news from her and to get back to the job of cooking for her family (which has dwindled in recent times). Since Jason is with Pandora, Lisa probes whether wedding bells are on the cards (since Lisa got married at twenty and Pandora is now twenty-four). Ken, Lisa’s Husband, jokes that twenty is too young to get married and was too young for Lisa to get married. She then explains that she has another child; named Max. He is eighteen and living away from home since he fell into the wrong crowd in Hollywood and had to get back on the straight and narrow abroad in Idaho. Max was adopted at six weeks old and she feels hasn’t struggled because of this but more because he is in a family of empire achievers. Lisa had Pandora biologically and she and Ken wanted to adopt more than just one but time got away since they were busy working. Max surprises Lisa and comes home on her birthday for her birthday lunch which she is very pleased about since her children are her life. She emphasises how she loves Max no differently because he is adopted as opposed to being biological and shares how physically mothering a child is not as strong as raising a child. Max is going to be touring The Musical Institute with his parents as he is looking to his future and is considering returning to Beverly Hills after being sent away for a year due to a rebellious phase and rebellious influences. Lisa worries that moving to Los Angeles wasn’t a good thing for Max but is focussed on looking ahead and not backwards. As they tour the institution and Lisa is reassured that they have a zero tolerance policy on smoking and drugs, the family think they have found the direction that Max is headed in. Since Max is a keen guitar player, Lisa wants to help support Max and see him follow his musical passion; just as she did as a young actress.
Relationship With Cedric[]
Even though Cedric is an employee of hers, he is also seen as family and it is therefore to find that dividing line between a professional relationship and a personal one. She notes how he is going to want to start a family of his own and become his own "Housewife" soon but they’re happy with how things are at the moment - with him being her permanent "HouseGuest". Lisa is always mothering Cedric; like she does to her kids (questions him as to why he has three sugars in his morning caffeine). Cedric explains how he adopted the Vanderpump-Todds as his family since he doesn’t have one of his own and that is that - whether they like it or not! A typical start to the day for Lisa and Cedric is shown: a trip to the flower market to pick up some flowers up for Villa Blanca and organise the arrangements at the restaurant. Lisa describes herself as someone who likes to keep herself busy and eating lunch with girlfriends and shopping goes only so far with her, she can’t do it all the time. She gushes over how well Cedric knows her daily tasks and how to oversee Villa Blanca and this brings her comfort as she can always leave him in charge since she can’t be there everyday.
Relationship With Ken[]
Ken admits, when Lisa is in New York, that he feels like his right arm has been cut off since he isn’t used to being away from his Wife and misses her massively. While she is away, he is filmed in his garden with his dogs (taking a walk and cleaning the pool); running around like a "headless chicken"- which is how Lisa predicts he’ll be without her! They both go into some detail about their marriage. Lisa laughs when joking that she is worried Ken is going to go back to his wild ways when she is away but says how her friends described her as a "lion tamer" before she married Ken at the age of twenty-one. Ken speaks of their dynamic as one of which where he "wears the pants" but Lisa runs the household and controls every detail of it like when Ken can access the fridge for a sandwich!

In Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Wealthiness, Kim and Lisa are bought together when the six 'Housewives' go on a day trip to Las Vegas to watch a home game and cheer on NBA’s Sacramento Kings; a trip organized by their owner and Lisa’s friend, Adrienne Maloof. Since Kim is introduced to her Sister, Kyle Richards' friends, Kim doesn’t have a history with any of the non-related members of the group to her and doesn’t form a connection with any of the ladies in the group immediately, including Lisa, but realizes that forming such friendships will take time. Lisa picks up on the reserved nature of Kim which Kim describes as natural considering she was a child star.

In Chocolate Louboutins, after Kyle invites Lisa and her family to join her extended families' Easter get-together, Kim admits not to be too thrilled (meaning no offence but just doesn’t like the fact that their family celebration is being extended to other people and she is going to have to work hard to socialize and get to know Lisa which she finds is an uncomfortable task) . When Lisa helps both Kyle and Kim cook for a vast number of people during their first night together in Palm Desert, the Richards Sisters get into a small disagreement which Lisa notices is not something that you want to get in between as whoever you do not side with will bite your head off! Despite this, she says that she adores spending time with Kyle but finds Kim a little on the defense and hard to get to know.
In Plenty of Baggage, Kim and Lisa both attend the Las Vegas trip that Adrienne organizes yet their on-camera interaction is little. During the episode, pre-Las Vegas, Kim is invited, alongside all of the other 'Housewives', to Villa Blanca, for a bite to eat, however.

In It’s My Party and I’ll Spend If I Want To, Lisa and Kim cross paths at Kyle’s Daughter, Portia’s, second birthday party. As they’re becoming more comfortable in each other’s company, Lisa jokes that Kim’s time-keeping is off point (as she was late to Portia’s birthday party and late to Villa Blanca when Lisa invited all of the other 'Housewives' for lunch). Kim is jovial about this topic but does snap and say how she is always prompt other than the two occasions that Lisa is referencing.

In Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Wealthiness, Lisa and Kyle talk highly of each other with Lisa labelling Kyle her "partner-in-crime", indicating that they already have a withstanding friendship. As Lisa goes onto say how funny she finds Kyle, she points out that they’re so close since they both have a handbag addiction! Lisa, does however, find flying with Kyle a little annoying since the latter is such a nervous flier and it brings out her dramatic and neurotic side. At lunch, in Las Vegas, Kyle seems most comfortable with Lisa and tries to imitate her English accent; which the latter feels isn’t done too well!

In Chocolate Louboutins, Kyle invites Lisa to spend Easter with herself, her Sister, Kim Richards, and their families. They all enjoy the festivities together and while Kyle commends how Lisa always has the best and biggest things from the cards to the dogs to the gifts, Lisa gushes over how much she adores Kyle. When the pair of Sisters have a little disagreement while away in Palm Desert, Lisa does defend her friend within the mini-battle, which is Kyle.

In Plenty of Baggage, Lisa is in good spirits with Kyle, as normal, as they have a laugh with each other at the airport, during dinners and by pool during the trip that Adrienne Maloof has organized in Las Vegas. Since Camille Grammer and Kyle had a mini-altercation before they left Vegas, Camille vents to their mutual friend, Lisa, and alleges that Kyle questioned why "anyone would be interested in Camille without Kelsey being there". Lisa does though defend her good friend, Kyle, suggesting that she’d never say such a thing and speculates that maybe Camille misheard or misunderstood Kyle’s wording and intentions.
In It’s My Party and I’ll Spend If I Want To, Lisa is invited to Kyle’s Daughter, Portia’s, second birthday party and receives a very warm and cozy feeling surrounding the atmosphere (coming from Taylor Armstrong’s Daughter, Kennedy’s, birthday party; which Lisa was a little critical of!). Lisa enjoys the party and reminisces over her time as a younger Mother with Kyle adoringly looking at her birthday girl and celebrating with her.

Lisa & Kyle Chatting About Kyle’s Fallout With Camille
In I Would Never Say That, Lisa enlists the help of a hypnotherapist to help Kyle face her fear of flying. Lisa is hoping that this treatment will work since then she won’t have Kyle (who she usually sits next to on flights) freaking next to her but joking aside, she is also keen to help out her friend who she thinks can get over this fear. They have a giggle beforehand since Kyle is apprehensive and can’t believe what Lisa has got her involved in, they have a giggle when the hypnotist arrives since Lisa tries to trick Kyle into thinking that the hypnotist is actually a salesman and manage to have a giggle afterwards about the experience that they’ve just had. At the airport ahead of flying to New York, Kyle and Lisa chat about the former’s fall out with Camille and the latter mentions how she spoke with Camille who relayed a different version of events that Kyle and Camille had to the conversation that Kyle claims they had. As Lisa admits she did defend Kyle as she said to Camille that she thinks she misheard or misinterpreted, Kyle decides to walk Lisa through the conversation again. As Lisa questions why Camille would hear something so differently to what Kyle claims she said, Kyle slightly snaps at Lisa and asks her to "let me finish!". Lisa says that it is so petty between the pair that they just need to work it out right at the start of the trip and be done with it.

In The Art of War, Lisa jumps immediately to defend Kyle when Kyle has a mini-argument with her Sister, Kim, about crying after an argument with Camille. Lisa insists that Kyle has a right to defend herself after Camille accuses her of saying something that she vehemently denies. She manages to tell Kyle that this is something not worth crying or fighting about and to diffuse the situation, she removes Kyle from the situation and dinner ends. After the chaotic first night in New York City, during the next day, Kyle and Lisa go outfit shopping for Kelsey’s new show’s debut yet Kyle mulls over the idea of whether she should be going tonight or not. Lisa offers her friend some firm advice: go, have a good time, don’t cover old ground and deal with the open wound once back in California. Kyle ends up going to the show.

In Plenty of Baggage, Adrienne invites Lisa, alongside all of the other 'Housewives', once again to Las Vegas in order to have a couples getaway and to watch a Jay Z concert. Lisa gushes once again about going to Las Vegas with Adrienne who owns a lot of it and is such a VIP.

Lisa & Taylor Taking It All In
In Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Wealthiness, it is clear that Lisa and Taylor have not really had any type of relationship or friendship since before boarding the private jet that Adrienne Maloof organizes for some of her closest girlfriends; Taylor and Lisa included. Taylor comments on Lisa’s dog, Giggy, which she appreciates and the former commends the latter for being so stylish and fashionable to carry off walking around with a dog instead of a handbag well.
In Plenty of Baggage, Lisa meets Taylor’s Husband, Russell, for the first time, when she hosts a lunch at Villa Blanca for the 'Housewives' and their Husbands. She laughs as he is not remotely how Taylor painted him out to be, according to Lisa. However, when she gets to know him during their trip to Las Vegas (a trip organized by Adrienne), Lisa seems to privately compliment Taylor but criticize her Husband at the same time. An example is when Lisa describes Taylor as stunning, bright and vivacious yet pokes fun at how opposites do attract (likening Russell to be, in fact, none of these). During this trip away, Lisa notes the lacking of bonding that Russell does manage to do with the group.

However, Lisa does feel that the extravagant extent that Taylor has gone too for a four-year-old’s birthday party is a little over the top (which Taylor does pick up on). Taylor is appreciative of Lisa’s attendance but does believe that they’re different types of people: while she wants to throw her Daughter a lavish birthday party, she reckons that Lisa would rather buy twenty pairs of shoes.

In Plenty of Baggage, after a mini-altercation between Camille and Kyle Richards at the end of their trip to Las Vegas (organized by Adrienne), Lisa does go shopping with Camille to hear her side of the story. While Camille alleges that Kyle said that no one would be interested in her if it weren’t for her Husband, Lisa does defend Kyle and says she can’t imagine that she’d ever say such a thing. She speculates that maybe Camille misheard or misinterpreted what Kyle had said. While there is a difference in opinion here, their friendship does not suffer as a result.
In The Art of War, after the bust-up between Kyle and Camille (with Kyle feeling that Camille is insecure), Camille seeks for some of the other 'Housewives' to come forward and admit that they’ve thought or said that they believe Camille to be insecure. In a confessional, Camille admits that Taylor Armstrong told Camille that while she and Lisa were headed to New York, Lisa kept trying to put words in Taylor’s mouth and get her to say that she thinks Camille is insecure. Camille does not confront Lisa about this but does mention it privately.
