Matty Samaei is a former main cast member on The Real Housewives of Sydney.

Biography[]

Immigrating to Australia at age 12 with her Persian family, Matty’s life has not always been so opulent. Growing up in a modest, humble way, she believes her current success is an amalgamation of sheer hard work, dedication, confidence and the spirit of never, ever giving up.

Matty lives in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs with her fiancé Michael Stathakis and her two young daughters. In line with her Forever Young brand, she is committed to a healthy lifestyle of eating well exercising and exploring the latest beauty and anti-aging treatments. Athena X Levendi[]

At Victoria Rees's white themed lunch in Branch of Olive, as Matty was trying to diffuse an argument, Athena X attacked Matty's appearance and her medical spa business. Leading to Matty storming off from the lunch.

In Greek Goddess, Matty did not attend Athena X's birthday event, Athena X stated she reached out to Matty but did not hear back. Krissy and Melissa call Matty but Matty contradicted Athena X's claim of an apology call attempt, receiving just text messages. Athena X ask Krissy and Melissa what Matty had said, the ladies try to explain to Athena X that she did not actually apologize to Matty while Athena X stands her ground.

Athena X thinks people who seek beauty enhancements medically are insecure in Reunion. Nicole points out Athena X has had botox and nose jobs. Athena X clarifies her nose jobs were for medical reasons. Melissa explains that it is hypocritical, Athena X does not get it. Matty revealed that she had gone out with Athena X for drinks and they are currently amicable. However, Athena X seems unsatisfied with Matty's explanation, Matty apologizes and diffuses the situation.

Lisa Oldfield[]

Lisa lightly shoves Matty in For Art's Sake after she joins the argument between Krissy and Lisa. However, they light-heartedly talk about it in Persian Party and they put it behind them.

The ladies gossip that Christa Billich's in an open relationship in Fur Wedding, and her partner paints women that he has special encounters with. Krissy mentions Matty has been painted by Christa's partner. Later on Athena X and Lisa bring up Matty as a subject of Christa's partner's paintings on their way to Christa's dog and cat wedding. They insinuate Krissy mentioned it in a malicious manner, Matty clarifies that it was a gift she commissioned for her partner. Matty is not pleased with Athena X and Lisa's commentaries during the wedding. Athena X brings up Krissy mentioning Matty's painting. Matty gets mad at Athena X and Lisa for instigating and blowing things out of proportion. Krissy is confused by Athena's attempt to stir up drama. Lisa thinks Krissy got away and is surprised Matty is mad at her. Athena X attacks Krissy after rejoining the group with Lisa, Matty is infuriated that they are arguing about her again. Krissy attacks Lisa, Lisa argues back, Matty calls Lisa a "snake", Lisa shoves Matty and Matty throws her drink on Lisa. All hell breaks lose and tussle ensued, Matty smashes her champagne flute and storms off.

Victoria Rees[]

Victoria's absence and tardiness to many events is brought up in Reunion. Matty tells Victoria that the ladies want her at their events because they enjoy her company. Matty and Victoria talk about Victoria skipping the final dinner in Singapore. Victoria states she wanted to get dinner with her newfound sister. Matty says she heard many different excuses on why Victoria was not there from the ladies. They end on the note Victoria has gotten to an age where she just can't be bothered.

Michael Sathakis[]

Michael is introduced in Jatz Crackers, as Matty's partner for 3 years. In Greek Goddess, Matty talks about her argument with Athena X at Victoria's lunch with Michael, and whether she should attend Athena X's event while there is animosity. Michael tried to offer his opinion several but kept getting talked over by Matty.

In For Art's Sake, Matty's kids advocate for a dog with Matty's partner, Michael, who's adamantly against getting one. Matty's friends bring over a total of 7 dogs to babysit for a test run on having dogs. Michael is not pleased with Matty's surprise and barricades himself inside his man cave while Matty and the girls head out to walk all the dogs at once. Which ends disastrously and Matty might be on the same side with Michael regarding getting dogs.

The couple reportedly split in January 2019.^[2]
