Porsha Williams is a current main cast member and former recurring cast member on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. She also appeared as an "All Star" on the third season of The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip and has been the star of two spin-off series, Porsha’s Having A Baby and Porsha’s Family Matters.
Casting[]
Williams joined The Real Housewives of Atlanta during its fifth season and starred in a main capacity for only two seasons before getting demoted to a 'Friend of the Housewives' for the seventh season. Executive Producer and Host, Andy Cohen, insisted that the reason to relegate Williams to a recurring role was only due to the "limited amount of storyline" that production had received from her and not due to the physical altercation that she was involved in with co-star, Kenya Moore, during the previous season’s 'Reunion' Special.
Williams was promoted back to a "Peach Holder" ahead of the eighth season and then remained in that role until the conclusion of the thirteenth season. Williams announced that she had chosen to walk away from the show as she was reaching her ten-year mark on the platform and was reaching the age of forty which left her "reassessing what she wanted out of life" and to focus on "the next chapter".
However, on February 13, 2024, Williams announced that she had signed onto appear in the show’s sixteenth season - making a return after a two season break.
In between the eleventh and twelfth seasons, Williams received a spin-off series, Porsha’s Having A Baby; which allowed cameras into film her life ahead of giving birth to her first child. She also received another spin-off after her official exit from the main show; which was another reason why she chose to leave the Atlanta installment of The Real Housewives franchise, titled: Porsha’s Family Matters; which was a single season series where cameras followed Porsha’s love life with new fiancé, Simon Guobadia, and her family plus ex-boyfriend and Father to her Daughter, Denis, question the speed of her engagement.
Williams also appeared in The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip during its third season; as a replacement for Tinsley Mortimer; a former The Real Housewives of New York City star, who exited the show for 'personal reasons'. In place of Mortimer, Williams joined seven current and former 'Housewives' across other installments as they holidayed in Thailand.
