Red Flags and Flag Footballs is the third episode of the eighteenth season and the three-hundredth-and-eleventh episode ever produced of The Real Housewives of Orange County. It premiered on July 18, 2024, to an audience of 0.60 million live viewers.
Official Synopsis[]
On Bravotv.com: "With tensions lingering between Gina and Jenn, the ladies get their aggressions out in a flag football match. Shannon grapples with the fact that Alexis seems to be taking over everything that was once hers. Gina follows through on a tough decision for her and her family."[1]
Summary[]
Gina had just stormed off after the argument between her and Jenn. Gina calls Emily while Jenn calls Shannon. Shannon tells Jenn that she understands where Gina is coming from, Jenn thinks out of anyone Gina should understand falling into hardship. Gina thinks Jenn should live within her means.
At Emily's Flag Football event, the lingering animosity between Gina and Jenn is felt. Team Tamra consists of Jenn, Alexis, Katie, Paulina (friend), and Annabelle (friend). Team Emily consists of Gina, Shannon, Sarah (friend), Michelle (friend), and Jodie (friend). The teams split up to make jerseys and come up with names. Team Emily becomes The Destroyers and Team Tamra comes up with Team Love.
Katie revealed that she was married to her ex-husband for 10 years, and is now settling in New Port Beach with her current husband Matt from San Diego. Jenn tells the ladies on her team what transpired last time she saw Gina. On the other team, the ladies are incredulous and feign inappropriateness of the number of time Alexis said she had sex with John in a day (4). Shannon tells the ladies that she is not happy that John brings Alexis to "her gym". Apparently Alexis was there 30 minutes prior to Emily, Gina, and Shannon arriving to practice football in the previous episode. Alexis tells Gina that Shannon had not been to that gym in 6 months, and it's "John's gym". Gina tells Shannon what Alexis just told her.
The flag football game commences and The Destroyers destroyed Team Love. Alexis leaves and the ladies have food. Gina and Jenn talks through their issues, Gina called Jenn a "squatter". Jenn opens up about never having a credit card in her name and learning about finances post divorce at a later age. Jenn also brings up that Ryan took up her car debt ($24,000). The ladies encourage Jenn to be independent and not to rely on her partners financially. Gina understands Jenn and reveals to the group that Travis is moving out, due to them not being able to sustain the lifestyle of 6 kids, and Travis's difficult relationship with his ex. However, they are not breaking up. Tamra express incredulity over the arrangement in her confessional. Gina and Jenn bound over the difficult times in their lives and resolve their issues. Emily hands out awards.
Shannon joins Emily for her 15 year anniversary boudoir photo shoot present for her husband Shane. The ladies open up regarding their weight insecurities. After the shoot Shannon tells Emily she heard John went on a tirade at the gym, as the trainer informed John and Alexis that he does not want drama there. Alexis responded with "I'm a good Christian girl", which the trainer said "good Christian girl talks about her sex life?". According to Shannon John thinks she is behind it.
Tamra, Jenn, and Alexis walk their dogs. Alexis shows up with her newly adopted golden retriever, Biscuit, which bears striking resemblance to Archie, Shannon's dog. Jenn said her yoga studio is not doing well, Tamra relates as her and Eddie's CUT Fitness went out of business as well. The ladies again bring up worries for Jenn's situation and relying on her partners. Alexis brings up the gym situation, she believes Shannon had told the trainer about her and John's sex life as she had only brought it up at Heather's New Year, New Me lunch.
Katie, Gina, and Sutton Stracke meet up for lunch. Gina knows Sutton because Sutton's ex-husband owns the mutual fund company that employed Gina's ex-husband. Sutton's business partner is into golf and they introduced her and Katie. Sutton moved to Orange County in 2008. Katie thinks Heather is being dismissive toward her at Sutton's Christmas party, where they did not talk but Heather tagged her in a picture that she is not in after Katie followed her on Instagram.
Emily discusses health with Shane, the juxtaposition of Emily's avid gym commitment and Shane not exercising. Emily wishes they can both work out after a heart attack scare. Shane brings up Emily might be working out too much and self deprecates when her goals are not met, and that he handles the kids while she's at the gym.
Both Gina and Travis are very emotional as Travis is packing up to move out. Gina feels guilty about making the decision of Travis leaving. Travis doesn't think that the space is needed because of the kids like Gina said, Gina admits it might be she needs space from Travis's ex.
