Shane Keough is a former recurring cast member on The Real Housewives of Orange County.

Storylines[]

Baseball Career[]

Season 1[]

In Meet The Wives, Shane and Colton are steered toward baseball as Matt Keough, Jeana's husband was a professional baseball player himself. If Shane joins major league he'd be a third generation Major League player. Shane hopes he'll be able to accomplish that fit. Shane's baseball team wasn't working out for him so Jeana and Matt bought a house in Irvine for Shane to play baseball there. However, Shane did not maintain good grades therefore could not play baseball. They are worried that Shane may not be drafted due to inefficient play hours. Matt doesn't think Shane will play professionally.

The first day of three days of Major League Draft arrives. The Keoughs are nervous, as Shane's future hangs in the balance. Jeana thinks Shane is planning on being drafted in High School and play professional baseball instead of going to college, but not keeping up with school work interferes with that. Shane was not drafted on the first day.

Shane gets drafted by the Oakland A's on the second draft day. Unfortunately, getting drafted does not mean playing in Major League. They call Matt to deliver the good news, Shane is disappointed when Matt is busy and can't come home to celebrate.

Shane is not going to play for the Oakland A's despite being drafted in Is It Hunting Season, Yet. As there were a thousand athletes drafted before him. Shane is planning to go to junior college, play for the school in hopes of getting scouted next year. Jeana and Shane bicker over the living situation at school. Kara does not want to go. Jeana, Colton, and Shane pick Matt up from the airport and head to Arizona. The Keoughs minus Kara go on the college tour at Yavapai College. Kara and Matt state in their confessionals Shane does not care about classes. Jeana affirms it as well stating it's all about baseball. Shane has a lot of pressure on him as both his dad and his grandpa both played in major league. Shane is upset at the end of the tryout because he thinks he didn't do well. Yavapai College's coach did not extend a solid offer to Shane right away. But it is revealed at the end of the episode he did offer Shane a scholarship.

Dr. Gideon Ariel, biomechanics expert helps Shane with his athletic endeavors at Jeana's request in Cut The ‘P’ and ‘Lem’ Out of Problem and You Get ROB. Shane doesn't understand the point of biomechanics. Shane accepts the scholarship at Yavapai College in Shocking News, Jeana and Shane are looking over classes to register to. The gay rumor of Shane is refuted in Reunion, Jeana explains it as Shane will be traveling in the future having relationships is not practical.

Season 2[]

In The Housewives Are Back!, Shane participated in the Junior College World Series, but unfortunately injured his back before signing with the Oakland A's. Now Shane's recovering at home for 6 weeks.

Season 1[]

Shane does not attend his own graduation in Meet The Wives. Unfortunately Jeana has her annual charity event so she cannot make it. Shane does not see the point of going as Jeana will not see him walk and states he's not a "school person." Yavapai College's coach offered Shane a scholarship in Upgrading Has Nothing To Do With You Honey, Jeana, Shane, and Kara are choosing between Yavapai College or Santa Ana College. Kara wants Shane to go to Yavapai as that is the better decision. Kara thinks Jeana babies Shane and doesn't want him to go far from home.

Jeana states the family is bittersweet about Shane leaving for college in The Finale, as Shane is high maintenance and hopefully he'll come home a grown adult. Shane and Jeana talk while Shane packs for college. Shane is ready to leave. Jeana is not too worried as Arizona is not too far from California, and Shane's grandparents live in Arizona. Matt calls and wishes Shane good luck, Shane states Matt was never very hands on so this is easy for him.

Kara Keough[]

Season 1[]

In Meet The Wives, Kara appreciates Jeana supporting her at her sporting events, however, Matt is not in attendance and Kara thinks Matt likes Shane more. When Shane got drafted by the Oakland A's and Kara makes varsity volleyball, the siblings congratulate each other.

Jeana is sad Shane's leaving but is excited to enjoy the peace without Shane and Kara's bickering in Shocking News. Jeana says whatever Shane gets Kara wants it too. Shane states there's friendly competition between the siblings. Kara thinks Shane is the baby despite being the oldest and gets whatever he wants. Shane affirms it. Kara spend over 2 grand buying clothes. Jeana knows she spoils her kids. Shane says Kara and him would not talk for weeks when they say something each other don't like. But they'll hang out like nothing happened. Both siblings states they'll miss and love each other when Shane leaves for college, although they are not each other's favorite people.

The day Shane is leaving is here in The Finale, to Kara's surprise . Kara states it will be difficult for Shane to be independent. The siblings say their goodbyes, although Kara and Shane continue to bicker.

Colton Keough[]

Season 1[]

Shane and Colton go ATV'ing in Is It Hunting Season, Yet. Shane states there's friendly competition between them as they are in the same sport. Shane's a bit mean to Colton but plays it off as tough love, Colton states in his confessional that he speaks fast so Shane can't cut him off. Colton beats Shane by 5 seconds in the ATV race, which puts Shane in a bad mood. Jeana says Colton is doing great without Shane's "friendly competitions" in Reunion. The ladies sympathize with Colton and discuss Shane's behavior toward his siblings. Jeana defends Shane.

Matt Keough[]

Season 1[]

Shane does not want to be in a car with Matt, who is not talkative on the college road trip to Arizona in Is It Hunting Season, Yet. Matt's career was cut short as he was hit in the head by a ball during a game and has to undergo surgery. Shane states Matt was happy and personable before the injury but has gone through a 180 since then.

Season 1[]

Shane plays basketball with his friend Calen and they talk about girls in Talk, Talk, Talk. Shane states he is a virgin and is waiting for the right time. Shane plays pool with his other friends, they informed him that there's rumors about Shane involving other housewives. At Jeana's BBQ, Jeana and Shane talk about Jo and Slade, Shane thinks Jo is hot and Slade is being controlling over Jo. Jo mentions their rabbit problem to Shane. Shanes heads over to Jo's to shoot rabbits. Jo thinks Shane is good looking. Shane mentions he has a girl that he "pays special attention to". Slade comes home in the middle of Jo and Shane's "innocent" flirting, Slade is mad and accuses Jo of flirting. In Reunion, Shane and Jo are friends and talk occasionally.

Shane and Uncle Ritchie go out to party at night in Cabo in Is It Hunting Season, Yet. Uncle Ritchie wants to get Shane drunk and talk to girls. They talk to a group of ladies, Shane dances and makes out with one of them.

Post Show[]

Shane "married his fiancée of two months, Francheska Perez, in Florida on Thursday, December 1"[1] in 2022. They welcomed their first born, McKay Keough in 2023, they named their daughter in honor of Kara's son, who unfortunately passed away.[2]
