Talk, Talk, Talk is the fourth episode in the first season and the fourth episode ever produced of The Real Housewives of Orange County. It premiered on April 11, 2006 , to an audience of N/A million live viewers.
Synopsis[]
On Bravotv.com: "Jeana takes Kimberly and Scott house hunting, then hosts a neighborhood BBQ where many of the housewives and their kids meet for the first time. Sparks fly as Shane takes an interest in Jo. Kimberly comes clean with Scott about her crazy weekend in Palm Springs. After deciding that they need a bigger home, Kimberly and Scott go house hunting, then debate how many days of celebration they should have for Travis' 7th birthday. Unhappy that Jo has gone back to work, Slade retaliates by hiring a sexy new assistant. Jo and Slade are at odds over Jo's new job. At Jeana's BBQ, it does not sit well with Slade that Shane and Jo have hit it off. Vicki and her husband Donn argue about Briana's job and a trip to their second home. Things take a turn for the worse when the police interrupt their holiday. Lauri continues to struggle with her children. Ashley fails to show up for work after discovering her car has disappeared and Josh's stay in Juvenile Hall is extended."[1]
Summary[]
Jo is ecstatic about starting her new job, Slade hires a personal assistant, Meghan to "pick up the slack". Slade goes golfing with his friends accompanied by Meghan, Slade and his friends make inappropriate jokes. Jo has lunch and tells her friends about Meghan. Jo and Slade complain to their friends about each other. Jo wants to be her own person and Slade believes Jo will be a housewife one day. Slade calls Jo and tells her their landscaper is requesting $400 for replacing the flowers eaten by rabbits. Jo recalls Shane, who was killing rabbits around the neighborhood (see Is It Hunting Season, Yet?)
Vicki and Donn bicker, Vicki is under extra stress since Donn is out of work. They talk about Donn's job prospect. The Gunvalsons are planning to go to their second home in Havasu Springs. Vicki wants Briana to take off work to go with them but Donn disagrees. They eventually hug and appreciate each other and make up. The Gunvalsons and a group of Michael's friends get ready to drive to Havasu Springs. Briana can't go due to work.
Lauri's situationship Steve picks her up from the airport coming back from New Orleans. Lauri found out Ashley skipped work Monday, their mutual boss, Vicki is not happy about it. Sophie tells Lauri that she misses Josh on their way to Juvenile Hall for a hearing, Josh might be released that day. Josh is still held in Juvenile Hall for a court ordered 5 week psychiatric evaluation. Josh's biological father attends as well. Unfortunately Josh was not able to be released as the psychiatrist was absent. Lauri runs into Ashley on the way home, Ashley cannot find her car. The car was repossessed as the down payment was not paid. Lauri does not want to bail Ashley out as Ashley is an adult. Lauri questions Ashley on what did she spend the money she had given her prior on. The mother daughter argue, Lauri relented on helping Ashley out because she does not have the time to drive Ashley around.
Kim tells Scott about Palm Springs over dinner. They talk about getting a bigger house for the kids, they were referred to Jeana as their realtor. Jeana shows them houses and invites the Bryants over to a BBQ. Kim thinks they should cut back on the house to keep affording lessons for kids while Scott thinks the opposite. Later on, Kim throws a birthday party for her son Travis. It is the only day in the year when he's allowed as much sugar he wants. Bianca helps out despite the chaos.
Shane plays basketball with his friend Calen and they talk about girls. Shane states he is a virgin and is waiting for the right time. Shane plays pool with his other friends, they informed him that there's rumors about Shane involving other housewives.
The Gunvalsons arrive at the lake, the boys enjoy water sports while Vicki and Donn relax on the boat. They get pulled over by the boat police for missing the registration sticker. The police conducts a safety check, Donn is nervous while Vicki does not take things seriously. Donn is mad at Vicki, Vicki can't believe Donn is berating her. Fortunately everything is in order and the police lets them go.
Lauri spends time with Sophie, Lauri's worried for Sophie due to the tightness between the Sophie and Josh. Lauri reveals Josh has ADHD and requires medication, which he has not been taking. Josh was charged for felony assault during the scuffle with a teacher when the teacher grabbed Josh for what they think is drugs. Josh's public defender plans for a plea bargain, Josh thinks he will go with it if that can get him home.
Jeana hosts a BBQ for friends and clients. All the ladies arrive along with their families. Vicki tells Kim about Briana and Michael leaving for college. Lauri introduces Grayson to Sophie. Matt leaves the party while stating Jeana socializes with everyone everyday. Jeana and Shane talk about Jo and Slade, Shane thinks Jo is hot and Slade is being controlling over Jo. Shane's friend Calen thinks Lauri is hot. Jeana enjoys making connections and bringing people together. Jo mentions their rabbit problem to Shane.
Shanes heads over to Jo's to shoot rabbits. Jo thinks Shane is good looking. Shane mentions he has a girl that he "pays special attention to". Slade comes home in the middle of Jo and Shane's "innocent" flirting, Slade is mad and accuses Jo of flirting.
