Taylor Armstrong is a former main cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and a former recurring cast member on The Real Housewives of Orange County.

Casting[]

Armstrong made up one of the six original cast members on the first season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She did continue to star as a 'Housewife' until the conclusion of the third season but decided to exit the show to "step back from the spotlight and paparazzi of L.A.". She relocated to Colorado with her Daughter, Kennedy, to help "work on herself and her Daughter" after the death by suicide of her Husband, Russell. Armstrong did make a few 'Guest Appearances' in the fourth, fifth and sixth seasons of the show.

Armstrong did star as an "All Star" on the second season of The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip - as part of the "Ex-Wives Club", she reunited with former co-star, Brandi Glanville, and they represented the Beverly Hills installment of The Real Housewives franchise while holidaying with six other 'Housewives' from three additional American installments.

As a franchise first, it was then announced that Armstrong would be joining another original American The Real Housewives installment; its original version, The Real Housewives of Orange County. After residing in Orange County for a few years, filming the Ultimate Girls Trip season (that made her become friendly with Orange County star, Tamra Judge) and get that positive feeling about the franchise again, she decided to do a franchise first and switch installments.

Allegedly, it was a last minute decision to credit Armstrong only as a 'Friend of the Housewives' and appear in a recurring role. She did, therefore, only star in a recurring capacity in the seventeenth season of the show before announcing her exit and confirming that she would not be back for the show’s eighteenth season. It is once again unclear whether the network, Bravo, did not ask her back for another edition or whether she chose to leave out of her own volition. It is assumed that she was offered to return in a recurring capacity but she declined since she felt that she should have had a full-time position.

Season 1[]

Marriage Imbalance With Husband[]

Taylor is forever keeping up with the latest anythings and everything in Beverly Hills from the fashion to the friends. However, the outside is not as rosy as the inside since Taylor is facing a little issue in her marriage - she feels lonely. As her Husband belittles her business to be a "small" one, she is being informed of his financial investments via magazines and her Husband is a workaholic who she describes as the one in the driver’s seat of their marriage (one in which she views as 80% business and 20% romance), Taylor grapples with how to deal with this bumpy road within her marriage.

Examples of this flare up during the couples trip to Las Vegas (which is organized by Adrienne Maloof) when Russell decides, even though Taylor wanted the trip to be fully focused on the couple having alone time without their Daughter and work, to squeeze in a work commitment by travelling states while on holiday. Additionally, during their final night, Russell dictates to Taylor when it is time to call it a night (even though she wants to stay out longer since she is having a good time getting to know her new friends). This prompts an admission by Taylor that Russell is in the driver’s seat of their relationship.

Russell gets involved in the fourth birthday party for their Daughter even more than Taylor was anticipating which she is pleased with. However, Taylor’s feelings turn when she has gifted Kennedy, some very expensive jewellery pieces and Kennedy doesn’t seem exactly overjoyed. This is an attempt to re-create a birthday celebration when her Grandmother gifted her with an expensive piece of jewellery. During the same moment, Russell decides to bring out his gift - a puppy. Taylor is frustrated that he did this without consulting her (they last chatted about getting a dog and ruled it out), without thinking it through (as he’ll be at work so who is he expecting to look after the dog) and because it stole the moment of bonding between Mother and Daughter. While Kennedy leaves the party feeling enthused about having a dog, Taylor feels further deflated as a recurring theme in her marriage continuously is popping up.

Throwing A Lavish Birthday Party For Her Daughter[]

Elsewhere, Taylor is all into making the life of her Daughter, Kennedy, special and since she is turning four, she does the right thing for a mom to do in Beverly Hills - get her the best birthday gift and throw her the best birthday party (all at high expense, of course). Taylor buys special pieces of jewelry and ends up paying $50,000 dollars for a tea-themed birthday party to celebrate Kennedy’s birthday. While she is slightly criticised for being very lavish and doesn’t exactly win over her Daughter on her big day, Taylor strives to put everything into making her Daughter happy. However, a slight dampener on the day and a recurring theme that occurs is that Russell overshadows and undermines her (including with Kennedy). The reason that raising Kennedy is very unique and special to Taylor is because motherhood and caring for a child was a brand new concept to her as she was raised an only child and thus, did not have many experiences with young kids. Her parents threw her amazing birthday parties but not to the scale that she is throwing for Kennedy as she turns four. At the party, ahead of gifting Kennedy the pieces of jewelry that she has bought for her, she gushes over her friendship with her best friend, Dwight, who compliments her as a fantastic mother. Dwight does find it hard to get to know Russell on a personal level and only chats business usually with him. As Taylor tries to get Kennedy photographed by her stunning tea-themed birthday party set, it seems impossible to convince her to turn a smile on (Kennedy is overwhelmed).

Friendships[]

Kim Richards[]

Friend[]

Season 1 (RHOBH)[]

In Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Wealthiness, Kim and Taylor meet properly for the first time on a private jet to Las Vegas as Taylor’s friend and Kim’s sister, Kyle Richards' friend, Adrienne Maloof, is hosting a day out to watch a home game for an NBA team that her family company owns, Sacramento Kings. While Kim finds it hard forming connections with the entire group since she hasn’t focused much on friendship within her life going from being a child star to a full-time parent, Taylor finds Kim hard to read and while they’re sat next to each other during the basketball game, they hardly communicate with each other. As a result, Kim finds it rude that Taylor had her back to her throughout the entire game and Taylor decides not to climb the wall that she feels Kim has built not to let future friendships blossom.

In Plenty of Baggage, Taylor and Kim reunite for the first time since they didn’t get good vibes off each other when they were last in Las Vegas. The pair are both involved in Adrienne’s second trip to Las Vegas and don’t seem to have much on-screen interaction yet it all seems cordial between the pair.

In The Art of War, Taylor and Kim’s relationship goes on the downward spiral. After Camille Grammer asks the 'Housewives' if they have ever thought or said that Camille is insecure. Kim confesses to Camille and says that both she and Taylor had a conversation about it on their way out to New York. Taylor, taken aback, is visibly annoyed since she only nodded to Kim questioning whether Camille is insecure but she never gave any indication of agreement to Kim’s theory. As Kim presses Taylor for trying to back out of saying she thought Camille was insecure (she was not recorded on-camera saying this, however), Taylor says that Kim shouldn’t "f***ing drag me into this ‘cause I guarantee that you’re barking up the wrong tree here". Taylor feels Kim is putting words in her mouth and hasn’t been involved in the contentious conversations between Kyle Richards and Camille Grammer (which is why the word ‘insecure’ has been bought up); so wants to remain out of them. Taylor says that she is going to "pull Kim aside and pull some Oklahoma on her a**". Taylor also tells Kim not to upset her while Kim comes right back at Taylor and says not to upset her"p*** her off" either. For the remainder of the trip (over the next two days), there is a bit of awkwardness between the pair yet tensions do not boil over to the surface. Kim gifts a bracelet to Taylor (among a couple of others) which Taylor graciously accepts yet privately questions whether this is an olive branch without an apology.

Lisa & Taylor Taking It All In

In Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Wealthiness, Lisa and Taylor are only getting to know each other as they properly meet during their mutual friend, Adrienne Maloof’s Las Vegas day out to watch a home game being played by the Sacramento Kings (an NBA basketball team that her family company owns). Taylor comments on Lisa’s dog, Giggy, which warms the latter and Taylor likes the stylishness of Lisa as she pulls off carrying a dog around as an accessory as opposed to a handbag (a recent fashion addition to the life of rich women in Beverly Hills).

In Plenty of Baggage, Lisa meets Taylor’s Husband, Russell, for the first time, when she hosts a lunch at Villa Blanca for the 'Housewives' and their Husbands. She laughs as he is not remotely how Taylor painted him out to be, according to Lisa. However, when she gets to know him during their trip to Las Vegas (a trip organized by Adrienne), Lisa seems to privately compliment Taylor but criticize her Husband at the same time. An example is when Lisa describes Taylor as stunning, bright and vivacious yet pokes fun at how opposites do attract (likening Russell to be, in fact, none of these). During this trip away, Lisa notes the lacking of bonding that Russell does manage to do with the group.

Lisa Being Escorted Into Taylor’s Daughter’s Birthday Party

In It’s My Party and I’ll Spend If I Want To, Lisa is invited to Taylor’s Daughter, Kennedy’s, birthday party. While Lisa is pleased to be invited, she is a little shocked at how extravagant Kennedy’s birthday party is; given she is four years old. Taylor senses Lisa’s astonishment and says that she is very different to Lisa as where Lisa would decide to buy twenty pairs of shoes, she’d rather throw a great birthday celebration for her Daughter.

Cosmetic Surgery With Adrienne’s Husband, Dr. Paul Nassif

In Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Wealthiness, Adrienne and Taylor’s friendship appears to be a dear one as they met three years ago since their children were at school together. With Adrienne now the Godmother to Taylor’s Daughter, Kennedy, their friendship seems to run quite deeply.

In Plenty of Baggage, Adrienne whisks Taylor, alongside the other 'Housewives', away to Las Vegas - this time, to watch Jay Z perform in concert and for a relaxed couples' getaway. While in Las Vegas, Taylor does admit how much she loves her friendship with Adrienne as it always comes with perks (with a smirk!) and also seems to be comforted and supported by Adrienne when her Husband decides to squeeze in a work commitment in Phoenix while they’re holidaying.

Snapped At Taylor’s Daughter’s Birthday Party

In It’s My Party and I’ll Spend If I Want To, Adrienne is invited to Taylor’s Daughter, Kennedy’s, birthday party and is impressed with Taylor’s fabulous hostess skills (which Adrienne finds Taylor to always live up too). She does, however, feel that the sort of party that is being thrown for a four-year-old is usually geared more towards adults rather than children and doesn’t feel parties that are as lavish as Kennedy’s should happen each year.

In I Would Never Say That, after Adrienne receives some bad news about a family member, she pulls out of joining the other 'Housewives' on their trip to New York City. Taylor admits that she feels sorry for Adrienne and is going to miss her on the trip. During their first night in New York, she texts Adrienne to tell her that all of the girls are thinking of her and check up on how she is doing.

Kyle Richards[]

Friend[]

Season 1 (RHOBH)[]

In Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Wealthiness, it is clear that Kyle and Taylor know each other but not all that well. Taylor admits that they met at a one-year-old’s birthday party but has seen Kyle, like the rest of the ladies, at other charity and social events since Beverly Hills is such a small place.

In Plenty of Baggage, during a couple’s getaway to Las Vegas in order to watch Jay Z perform, Kyle seems concerned for Taylor when her Husband, Russell, essentially tells Taylor to get up and leave during their final night in Las Vegas (Kyle likens the way that Russell spoke to Taylor as the way a father would to his child).

In It’s My Party and I’ll Spend If I Want To, Kyle admits that Taylor offered for their Daughters, Portia and Kennedy, to have joint birthday parties as their birthdays fall around the same date. However, Kyle turned down the offer since she is a control freak and didn’t feel that this would bode well for their friendship or for the party.

Kyle Being Introduced To Snowball

In I Would Never Say That, Kyle and Taylor head out to dress shop for their upcoming New York trip. Kyle picks Taylor up at her home and meets her new dog, Snowball, and her Daughter, Kennedy. Taylor feels guilty leaving Kennedy when she is not in school but Kyle tries to quash the feelings by saying that it is good for Kennedy to bond with her Dad, Russell. They try on dresses and outfits and both compliment how great each other look. Kyle jokingly admits to feeling jealous since Taylor is a "size triple zero" while she is a "size to two or four" which she remarks as average for Beverly Hills standards!

Kyle & Taylor Sharing Excitement About Seeing Their Families

In The Art of War, after Kim Richards and Taylor share choice words for each other during their first night in New York: Taylor is visibly frustrated and asks Kyle if she knows what her Sister’s problem with. Since Kyle has just had an argument with Camille Grammer, she tries to diffuse the situation and get Kim to drop it; which causes a rift between the Sisters. After such a chaotic New York trip, they both bond over looking forward to seeing their families when they get home.

Camille Grammer[]

Friend[]

Season 1 (RHOBH)[]

In Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Wealthiness, Camille and Taylor seem not to know each other really that well. While Taylor reckons that she met the majority of the group at charity and social events, which probably involves Camille, they are not as familiar as calling each other friends. However, on the private jet of their friend, Adrienne Maloof, who has organized the day out to Las Vegas, they connect about motherhood as Camille reveals she had her children via a surrogacy which Taylor finds commendable since she still has a good body, as a result! While at lunch in Las Vegas, Taylor points out that Camille should stop talking about herself through her Husband, Kelsey, if she wants the group and the world to get to know Camille for Camille not for being Kelsey’s Wife. This is purely friendly advice and only said in an confessional.

Taylor & Camille In Taylor’s Suite

In Plenty of Baggage, Camille and Taylor seem to be getting to know each other a little more when they both attend Adrienne’s second Las Vegas trip. However, Taylor does notice during the trip that Camille is more interested in speaking to the guys or being alone (not being with the other five girls who are all bonding).

Dana Wilkey[]

Friend[]

Season 1 (RHOBH)[]

In It’s My Party and I’ll Spend If I Want To, Dana is introduced as Taylor’s friend and party planner. Taylor gushes at how amazing Dana is as a party planner since she has a load of experience and always throws the best parties. Dana charges $12,000 to plan Taylor’s Daughter, Kennedy’s, tea-themed birthday party but she certainly delivers and Dana does score an invite and is in attendance on the big day.
