The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills - Season 12

The twelfth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, aired between: May 11, 2022, and October 26, 2022, continuing to star: Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, Garcelle Beauvais, Sutton Stracke and Crystal Kung-Minkoff; plus introducing, Diana Jenkins. Premiering on Bravo, this season consisted of twenty-four episodes and premiered to an average of 1.16 million viewers per episode.

Production[]

Filming begun on October 28, 2021, and lasted until February 2022; spanning over four months. The season’s 'Reunion' was taped on September 9, 2022.

Cast[]

In December 2021, it was confirmed that the entire main cast (which included: Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, Garcelle Beauvais, Sutton Stracke and Crystal Kung-Minkoff) and recurring cast (which only consisted of: Kathy Hilton) from the previous season would return in the same capacities for the upcoming twelfth season.

It was also announced that joining the Season 11 Cast (pictured on the right) would be new 'Housewife', Diana Jenkins (pictured on top left), and new 'Friend of the Housewives', Sheree Zampino (pictured on bottom left). Jenkins' addition made The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills installment, the second within The Real Housewives franchise to have eight full-time cast members starring in the same season, after Season 7 of The Real Housewives of New York City. It was also the first in the franchise to include ten cast members (when including the recurring castmates) in an individual season.

Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave (pictured on the left) and Faye Resnick (pictured on the right); former 'Housewife' and 'Friend of the Housewives', respectively, make appearances in this season and are credited as 'Guests'.

This is the sixth installment (fifth American) of The Real Housewives franchise to produce a twelfth season.
- The Real Housewives of Orange County aired their twelfth season over 2017, The Real Housewives of Atlanta aired their twelfth season over 2019 and 2020, The Real Housewives of New York City aired their twelfth season over 2020, and The Real Housewives of New Jersey aired their twelfth season in 2022; premiering just over two months ahead of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'.
- The Real Housewives of Cheshire, the only international installment to have reached above twelve series, aired theirs across 2020.
With the season first premiering in May, this season marks the second time for a new season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to debut in May; after the previous season did also.
- However, this is the first season to have their concluding episode premiere in October.
  - With the last season concluding in November 2021 and this season beginning in May 2022 (just six months after), this season marked the quickest turn around for a previous season to conclude and new one to begin in the history of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Kathy Hilton returns to her recurring role for the first time - this marks the second season to feature her as a 'Friend of the Housewives'; after making her debut in this official role, in the prior season.
- The return of Hilton to her recurring capacity marks a second in the show’s history to have a 'Friend of the Housewives' make a return to the role (for a second run and a consecutive season) after former 'Housewife', Camille Grammer, did this between the eighth and ninth seasons.
This is the first and only season to feature Diana Jenkins as a 'Housewife' (introduced as the twenty-first Beverly Hills 'Housewife' and one-hundredth-and-thirty-ninth 'Housewife' on an American-produced season of The Real Housewives franchise) and Sheree Zampino as a 'Friend of the Housewives'. Neither make an appearance post this season.
- It is also the final season to feature Lisa Rinna and Kathy Hilton (who takes a one-season hiatus before returning to the same recurring capacity in the fourteenth season).
Faye Resnick and Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave return for their eighth and second seasons in 'Guest' capacities. While Mellencamp also this did last season, Resnick did not after having appeared in the minor capacity for three consecutive seasons prior.
After the second and seventh seasons of the show (which featured Dana Wilkey and Brandi Glanville, formerly, and Eden Sassoon and Kim Richards, latterly), this is the third season of the show to feature two 'Friends of the Housewives'.
- As mentioned above, this is the first season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to feature eight-full time cast members. It is an American-franchise first other than the seventh season of The Real Housewives of New York City. With the addition of two recurring cast members, the season’s combined main and recurring cast totaled at ten which is the highest that a blended main and recurring cast has contained on an American-installment of The Real Housewives franchise.
This is the fifth season (after the show’s seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth) to add one new 'Housewife'.
- These seasons saw the respective additions of: Dorit Kemsley, Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave, Denise Richards and Garcelle Beauvais.

Lisa Rinna being shown second in the show’s intro was done for the third consecutive season (after the tenth and eleventh seasons).
Dorit Kemsley appearing third in the season intro is a fourth: after she did so in the eighth, ninth and tenth seasons.
Diana Jenkins is the only 'Housewife' this season to feature in a position for the first time; but this was the case since it was her first season.
This is the second time to feature Sutton Stracke and Crystal Kung-Minkoff in fifth and sixth positions after they both remained in the same position from their first seasons (last season) in main capacities.
This is the second season to have Erika Jayne in the penultimate position in the theme song (after the tenth season) and separately, the second season to have Erika in the seventh position (after last season; which closed the intro).
Kyle Richards closing the theme song for the season was the fifth in the show’s history to do this: after the third, fifth, seventh and ninth seasons.
- She also ends up doing this in the fourteenth season too.
It is the second time that Rinna is second in the intro and Kemsley is third in the intro (directly placing one after the other); after doing this first in the tenth season.
After the last season, it is the second time that Sutton Stracke, Crystal Kung-Minkoff and Erika Jayne are ordered in this particular order.

The 'Housewives' all head to Punta Mita, Mexico. This trip features on the fifth, sixth and seventh episodes of the season.
The other cast trip is to Aspen, Colorado. This trip features on the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth episodes of the season.

Reunion[]

This season’s seating chart remains practically identical to the previous season with only one switch around.
- Kyle Richards, Garcelle Beauvais and Sutton Stracke (with Kathy Hilton joining them during part of the Reunion) sitting on one side and Lisa Rinna, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley and Crystal Kung-Minkoff, sitting on the other side is identical to last season.
  - Additionally, all of the 'Housewives' remain in the same order on their respective 'Sofas' with the exception of Lisa Rinna and Erika Jayne (as Rinna moves up one and Jayne moves one down from the head of the 'Sofa').
Due to testing positive for COVID-19, Diana Jenkins was unable to attend in-person yet she did join them virtually (via a live Zoom call) for a couple of segments.
- Sheree Zampino also chose to skip the 'Reunion' since she had decided at that point that she had experienced all that she had wanted to with the show and would rather not be involved in the drama.
This was the tenth season to have Kyle Richards at the "Head of a Reunion Sofa". She only did not sit in this position during the sixth season (was in second behind Lisa Vanderpump) and tenth too (the virtual Reunion which is unclear as to whom would’ve sat where).
- It was the fourth and final to feature Lisa Rinna in "Head Position" after the sixth, seventh and ninth seasons' Reunions.
This was the third season to feature Erika Jayne in the "Second Position" after the seventh and ninth seasons' Reunions.
- It was the also second to feature Garcelle Beauvais in the same position (second when Kathy Hilton was not present at the Reunion and third when she was present) after the previous season.
